Mayfield Aquatics
This is undoubtedly the Hunter’s best, most technological advanced and comprehensive heated indoor aquatics centre for members. The features include:
- 5 Star Accredited venue (standard set by Royal Life Saving Association)
- 12.5 metre program pool heated to 30 degrees
- 25 metre, 8 lane pool heated to 28 degrees
- Water treated using the latest in technology - Ultra Violet Light Filtration, which disinfects the water and renders it free from harmful chemicals
- Water is heated using the reverse cycle air conditioning from our main club.
- Aquatic centre fully air conditioned.

- Water quality checks occur 3 times a day
- Showers and toilets are conveniently located next to pool
- Disabled and family changerooms available
- Adequate seating around the circumference of the pools
- Change tables are available for parents
- Hydraulic chair lift available to entry and exit from lane pool
The facility provides for a multitude of services including:
- An extensive Austswim accredited Learn to Swim program
- A comprehensive Aqua program – 15 classes a week
- Novocastrian Master Swim Club
To maximise the aquatics opportunities available to members, the Balance Aquatics Centre is opened 102 hours per week, 363 days a year and to ensure the absolute best in water quality, the pool is checked 3 times a day and thoroughly cleaned and maintained daily.
To highlight Balance Aquatics quest for excellence and quality, Royal Life Saving NSW awarded the facility its 5 Star Accreditation in 2010 – the first in the Hunter Region and in addition has maintained its position as Austswim preferred supplier of Aquatics courses in the Hunter Region.
