Balance Health Club holds fitness classes for children aged 2 to 13. These classes target children's co-ordination, balance, flexibility, increase fitness and social skills.
Jittabugs is held Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 11am and 11.30am for children aged 2-5. The children participate in a cardio vascular warm up to music, move around obstacle courses, group work, and games with use of props such as parachute, balls, scarves, and pictures.
The children also learn about nutrition while having fun and the Easter bunny and Santa visit the children throughout the year.
After they graduate Jittabugs and receive their certificate the children are encouraged to join Kanga Kids.
Kanga kids is held Thursday afternoons at 4pm for children aged 5-7.
The children continue practising the same skills learnt in Jittabugs but progress to a more physical and complex level. In this class new equipment is introduced such as skipping ropes, steps, rebound boards, fitballs and agility ladder. New skills introduced include strength using body weight, boxing using focus pads and punching bags, and basic aerobic moves. The final stage of kid’s classes is Junior Gym.
This is for children aged 7-13 and classes are held Thursday afternoons at 4.30pm. This class incorporates all of the skills mentioned above with the focus being on technique and giving the children a little more of a challenge. The classes improve children's self confidence, and self esteem which are extremely important in maintaining mental health during the impressionable years. When the children reach 14 years of age they are able to take out a supervised gym membership. Balance believes in educating from a young age on how important the benefits of exercise are to not only general health but to respiratory disease, diabetes and obesity which is coming so common in today’s youth. Balance feels by educating from a young age children will carry these nutrition and exercise values through their teenage years and beyond.
